Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems seeks a Propulsion for Survivability NG Fellow 1 to join the Survivability Organization. This onsite leadership role will guide complex analytical and design tasks across Redondo Beach, Melbourne, San Diego, Oklahoma City, and Palmdale locations, with a 9/80 schedule and some travel.

Candidates must hold a DoD/Secret clearance or higher. The role requires deep propulsion, survivability design knowledge, and the ability to mentor engineers while coordinating

Qualifications

• Bachelors, Master’s, and/or PhD in a relevant STEM degree and robust industry related experience; 20 years with BS or 18 years with MS/PhD
• Significant experience with propulsion design for Survivability including materials modeling, signature characterization, and the aircraft design process
• Must have extensive knowledge of aircraft contributors to survivability and the design trade space with aircraft and sensor performance
• Must have experience in verification and validation of survivability designs through full-scale vehicle and/or flight testing

Responsibilities

• Lead and advise on complex Survivability analytical, developmental, design and demonstration/test assignments
• Develop and mentor the next generation of engineers in discipline
• Act as a thought leader for the Survivability community across sectors
• Engage with government customers and internal stakeholders to communicate technical capabilities
