Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems seeks a visionary Airframe Design for Survivability - NG Fellow 1 to lead advanced survivability projects in a 9/80 onsite role. Location options include Redondo Beach, Melbourne, San Diego, Oklahoma City, or Palmdale.

The successful candidate will drive complex design, analysis, and integration efforts across programs. Ideal applicants have deep survivability design knowledge, artifact-driven leadership, and a proven track record with production-scale

Qualifications

Bachelors, Master’s, and/or PhD in a relevant STEM degree and robust industry related experience; 20 years with a BS or 18 years with an MS/PhD
Must have significant experience with airframe design for Survivability including materials modeling, signature characterization, and the aircraft design process
Must have extensive knowledge of aircraft contributors to survivability and the design trade space with aircraft and sensor performance
Must have experience in verification and validation of survivability designs through full-scale vehicle and/or flight testing

Responsibilities

Serve as technical lead and consultant to legacy and advanced programs and sector initiatives
Develop and maintain the NGAS Survivability Airframe vision and a roadmap for Edge technologies
Lead independent review teams and mentor engineers
Engage with government customers and internal stakeholders to communicate analyses and technical capabilities
