Hycroft Mining Holding Corporation is a US-based gold and silver mining company, which operates its wholly owned Hycroft open pit, gold, and silver mine located an hour southwest of Winnemucca, Nevada.
Job Description
As a surveyor, you will be responsible for collection of site coordinates, survey of stockpiles and open pit benches, assist with the exploration drill program, drone mapping and providing general support to the Technical Services Department. This position reports directly to the Senior Surveyor.
Responsibilities
- Adhere to the Hycroft policies and disciplines.
- Develop and practice a working knowledge of the Hycroft safety culture and maintain a positive attitude towards working safely.
- Assist with exploration drilling related activities, staking of drill sites and hole locations, required earthwork, sample pickup, logistics and surveying in environmental disturbance.
- Records survey measurements and descriptive data necessary to produce mine plots and designs.
- Miscellaneous survey work for projects occurring around the mine property.
- Drone flights as needed.
- Management and organization of all survey data.
- Punctuality and regular attendance required.
- Perform other related functions as assigned by supervisor.
Requirements
- 0-5 years of survey experience in a mining environment preferred.
- Experience with survey equipment (Trimble or Leica), GPS and Vulcan software experience a plus.
- Drone license preferred or willingness to acquire one.
- Wear appropriate PPE for tasks performed and areas being worked in.
- Demonstrate good mathematical skills in survey related mathematical computations.
- Demonstrate good oral and written communication skills.
- Detail oriented with a high degree of accuracy.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to organize data/field notes and meet deadlines in a timely manner.
- Ability to perform field work in all types of weather.
- Ability to work in a safe and environmentally aware manner.
- Must have experience with Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) and possess data entry skills.
- Ability to work in a high functioning team environment.
- Ability to operate computers, general office equipment, survey tools, light vehicles, and drone.
- Must have ability to see and hear.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds over rough terrain for several hours at a time.
- Activities include sitting, standing, walking over uneven surfaces, squatting, bending, twisting, reaching, climbing, and kneeling.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- College classes or experience related to survey a plus.
- Requires valid driver’s license.
