Job Description

The Utility Technician is responsible for supporting site operations through routine building maintenance, groundskeeping, light vehicle preventive maintenance activities, and occasional equipment operation. This position assists various departments in maintaining safe, functional, and well-maintained facilities, equipment, and work areas while continuously aligning daily functions with Hycroft's values.

Responsibilities

• Strictly adheres to Company values, policies, and management standards.
• Performs routine building maintenance, repairs, and inspections on site facilities.
• Assists with maintenance and repairs involving doors, windows, locks, lighting, plumbing fixtures, and general building systems.
• Completes general housekeeping and maintenance tasks in offices, shops, warehouses, and other site facilities.
• Maintains site grounds through vegetation control, trash removal, landscaping, and general upkeep activities.
• Assists with snow removal, sanding, and seasonal grounds maintenance as required.
• Supports the Light Vehicle Maintenance Department by performing preventive maintenance services, including oil changes, lubrication, fluid checks, tire inspections, and basic vehicle inspections.
• Assists mechanics and maintenance personnel with repairs and maintenance activities as directed.
• Safely operates light and heavy equipment in support of maintenance and site activities as needed.
• Perform pre-operational inspections and reports deficiencies on equipment and vehicles.
• Maintains active communication with supervisors and other departments to coordinate work activities.
• Accurately completes assigned work orders, inspection forms, and required documentation.
• Maintains clean, organized, and safe work areas at all times.
• Demonstrates flexibility by assisting multiple departments as business needs require.
• Compliance with all company policies and procedures including, but not limited to, safety, environmental, confidentiality, and code of conduct.
• Meets or exceeds established performance expectations set by management.
• Consistently exercises discretion and judgment in job performance.
• Punctuality and regular attendance required.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
• Previous experience in building maintenance, groundskeeping, industrial maintenance, or mining operations preferred.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and understanding of preventive maintenance practices.
• Basic knowledge of building maintenance and repair techniques.
• Working knowledge of hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment.
• Ability to perform routine maintenance tasks on light vehicles and support equipment.
• Ability to safely operate various equipment, vehicles, forklifts, and utility equipment.
• Ability to read and understand basic maintenance procedures and work instructions.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong commitment to safety and safe work practices.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products preferred.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Must be able and willing to work rotating shift work as required.
• Ability to work in all weather conditions.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and frequently bend, kneel, stoop, and climb as required to perform job duties.
