Qualifications

  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and be able to lift over 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

Hycroft Mining Holding Corporation is a US-based gold and silver mining company, which operates its wholly owned Hycroft open pit, gold, and silver mine located an hour southwest of Winnemucca, Nevada.

Job Description

The Laboratory Technician is responsible for receiving, labeling, and analyzing samples. Operate all systems following the Standard Operating Procedures, “SOPs”. Complete all necessary Safety and Environmental inspections daily. Assist in all the laboratory related areas when required.

Responsibilities
  • Follow Hycroft safety, environmental, and department standards, and paperwork in all laboratory areas.
  • Use of LIMS software, atomic absorption machine, Leco machine, ICP, and microwave 6.
  • Calibrating, troubleshooting, and maintaining laboratory equipment along with recording data.
  • Validate and enter assay data into LIMS.
  • Makeup standards.
  • Complete Cyanide Soluble analysis and aqua regia digestion.
  • Maintain compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Perform daily workplace inspections encompassing the laboratory.
Requirements
  • A minimum of one (1) to three (3) years of laboratory experience in the mining industry is preferred.
  • Able to work in fire, wet lab, Leco, sample prep, and AA room.
  • Able to use LIMS software to ensure effective quality control.
  • Demonstrate the ability to execute and hold self-accountable for work.
  • Able to work standing for a 12-hour period is required.
  • Equipment experience, forklift preferred.
  • Working effectively with others safely with an excellent attendance record is required.
  • Use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions and approach problems as a team.
  • Must possess adequate communication skills, as well as interpersonal, problem-solving, and basic math skills.
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite.
  • Demonstrate attention to detail and be thorough in completing work tasks.
  • The position requires a valid driver’s license.
  • Must be able to work rotating shift work.
  • Able to lift more than 50lbs.
  • Able to perform the duties of this job, the employee may work in outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, chemicals, and vibration.
