Job summary

Topographic, Inc. seeks a Survey Technician I to perform technically complex land surveying assignments and review survey maps for accuracy and regulatory compliance. You will support field crews with data collection, prepare base drawings from field data, and produce maps and exhibits using AutoCAD.

The role requires strong math skills, reporting ability, and proficiency with MS Office, AutoCAD, and Trimble software. Travel to worksites may be required; E-Verify is used.

Qualifications

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Solid math foundation for survey analysis.
  • Ability to write technical reports and use surveying software.
  • Excellent organization and attention to detail.
  • Able to read maps, title reports, and legal descriptions.
  • Proficient with MS Office for report drafting.

Responsibilities

  • Perform research of county, city, and other records for easements, deeds, and sketches for field crews.
  • Process field data with Trimble Business Center and prepare files for AutoCAD import.
  • Create survey base drawings from field data, photos, and reference maps.
  • Produce maps and exhibits using AutoCAD (subdivision maps, ALTA, topographic surveys).
  • Prepare legal descriptions and exhibits for rights of way and parcels.
  • Perform QA/QC on work and assist with other duties as assigned.
