Job summary

LJA Engineering in Florida is seeking a Survey Technician to prepare metes and bounds descriptions for boundary surveying projects, exhibits and mapping products, and to support data gathering for topographic maps. You will collect field and plan data, stake construction projects, compare computations to standards, and produce detailed maps.

The role requires Surveyor-in-Training or Level II CST certification, and 5–10 years of survey experience, with strong communication and proficiency in CADD

Qualifications

Surveyor-in-Training certification by the Florida Board of Land Surveying or Level II Certified Survey Technician certification required.
5–10 years of survey experience
Experience with CADD and Microsoft Office
DOT experience is a plus and strong communication skills

Responsibilities

Gather data used for topographical maps.
Stake projects for construction using engineering plans.
Compare survey computations with applicable standards.
Collect information needed to carry out new surveys from maps, previous survey data, photos and other sources.
Prepare topographic and contour maps of surveyed land including site features.
