Job summary

LJA Engineering in Florida is seeking a Survey Technician to prepare metes and bounds descriptions, exhibits, and various mapping products for boundary surveying projects.

This role requires 5–10 years of survey experience, CADD proficiency, and solid communication to build relationships with clients and internal teams; DOT experience is a plus. The team emphasizes employee ownership and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of survey experience.
• CADD experience is required and DOT experience is a plus.
• Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
• Ability to build strong relationships with internal and external clients.

Responsibilities

• Gathers data used for creation of topographical maps.
• Compile information necessary to stake projects for construction using engineering plans.
• Compare survey computations with applicable standards in order to determine the adequacy of data.
• Collect information needed to carry out new surveys using source maps and other data.
• Prepare topographic and contour maps of land surveyed with site features and notes.
