Job summary

LJA Engineering seeks a Survey Technician in Phoenix, AZ to prepare metes and bounds descriptions, exhibits and mapping products for boundary surveying projects.

In this hands-on role you will gather data for topographic maps, stake construction projects, and compare computations to standards, using maps, plans and field notes. 5–10 years of surveying experience and CADD ability are required.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of survey experience.
• CADD experience required; DOT experience is a plus.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to build strong relationships with clients.

Responsibilities

• Gathers data used for creation of topographical maps.
• Compile information necessary to stake projects for construction using engineering plans.
• Compare survey computations with applicable standards to determine data adequacy.
• Collect information needed to carry out new surveys, using source maps, previous survey data, photographs, computer records and other relevant information.
• Prepare topographic and contour maps of land surveyed, including site features and other relevant information such as charts, drawings, and survey notes.
