Job summary

United Consulting, located in Indianapolis, is seeking a Survey Technician to assist field crews in a range of surveying tasks including route, topo, boundary, ALTA/ACSM, construction staking, and right-of-way surveys. You will record field notes, handle data transfer to collectors, and coordinate with field and office staff to ensure accurate results.

The role requires a High School Diploma, a valid Indiana driver’s license, and willingness to work outdoors in varied conditions.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assist Survey Crew Chief with field work for surveys (route, topo, boundary, ALTA/ACSM, construction staking, and R/W).
• Record and maintain accurate field notes and data in field book.
• Assist in downloading/uploading data to data collectors and ensure data integrity.
• Communicate with field and office staff to provide quality services.
• Maintain field equipment and vehicles and ensure safety and confidentiality.

• Maintain all field equipment and vehicle
• Maintain confidentiality of information regarding clients and company practices

Skills

Requirements

Physical Requirements:

• Able to work 9 or more hours per work day
• Able to work 40 or more hours per work week, as needed
• Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions traversing uneven or difficult terrain while carrying survey equipment
• Able to drive survey vehicle
• Able to drive rebar, lath, stakes and/or hubs into the ground as needed
• Able to dig and/or probe into pavement or ground for pertinent survey information
• Able to lift utility structure lids or covers

Other Requirements

• Possess a valid Indiana Driver’s License
• Maintain compliance for MICCS program
• Agree to abide by the personnel policies identified in the Company Policy
