Job summary

The State of Indiana, through the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT), seeks technicians to support construction projects in Crawfordsville District. Responsibilities include inspecting work, testing materials, and coordinating with contractors to ensure compliance with plans and specs.

Positions may include Highway Technician 1 or 2, with pay starting at $22.00/hour and CDL enhancement opportunities. CDL training is provided onsite; CDL and endorsements may add pay.

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid Class A or Class B CDL or obtain one within 90 days.
• Willingness to perform winter operations and snow removal as needed.
• Ability to read and interpret plans, specs, and technical documents.

Responsibilities

• Operate highway maintenance and traffic equipment to maintain highways and rights-of-way.
• Perform material tests and inspections for quality assurance on projects.
• Communicate with contractors and INDOT personnel to ensure compliance with standards.
• Assist in winter operations including snow and ice removal and related duties.
