Job summary

KCI Technologies, Inc. seeks a Survey Party Chief in Woodcliff Lake, NJ to lead field crews on control, boundary and topographic surveys and to ensure data quality.

The role requires 4+ years of experience, a valid driver’s license, and willingness to travel for overnight projects; you will operate modern survey instruments and train junior staff.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Supervise a survey field crew on control, boundary and topographic surveys.
• Mentor, train, and manage assigned field staff.
• Operate robotic total stations, data collectors, levels, and RTK GPS.
• Perform field survey calculations and math checks.
• Interpret design plans, as-built drawings, and roadway layouts.
• Create legible field sketches and detailed notes.
• Maintain a valid driver’s license.
• Travel for overnight/extended projects; evenings/weekends.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Survey Party Chief

Location: US-NJ-Woodcliff

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• This position requires 4‑8 years of experience supervising a survey field crew performing control surveys, boundary and topographic surveys, construction stakeout, monitoring and as‑built surveys.
• Mentor, train, and manage assigned staff in the field.
• Operate robotic total stations, electronic data collectors, digital and optical levels, and RTK GPS equipment.
• Possess excellent math skills and perform survey calculations in the field.
• Interpret design plans, as‑built drawings, and roadway plans.
• Create legible field sketches and record detailed field notes.
• Hold a valid current driver’s license.
• Follow instructions and maintain a positive, can‑do attitude.
• Demonstrate leadership and mentoring skills.
• Be able to lift 50 pounds, walk for extended periods, work in all weather conditions, and be willing to work evenings/weekends, and travel for overnight and extended stay projects as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
