Job summary

Fishbeck is seeking a Survey Intern for Summer 2027 in Farmington Hills, MI. The role supports evaluating and designing water and wastewater projects as part of the Surveying team, with opportunities to assist across multiple offices.

You will gain hands-on experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or MicroStation, learn design concepts, and participate in site visits, client meetings, and data analysis. A valid driver’s license and a willingness to travel are preferred.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a Survey Engineering, Survey Technology, or Civil Engineering program.
• Experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or MicroStation preferable.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel occasionally.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel).
• Willing to work long hours and occasional weekends.

Employment Type: Full-Time Internship

Working with our Surveying team, you willassist with evaluations and design of Water/Wastewater projects.

What You’ll Do

• Assist in engineering evaluations and design of water and wastewater systems.
• Analyze data and help prepare technical reports.
• Collaborate with engineers and survey professionals across multiple offices.
• Participate in site visits and client meetings to observe project conditions firsthand.

What We’re Looking For

• Currently enrolled in a Survey Engineering, Survey Technology, or Civil Engineering program.
• AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or Micro Station experience, preferably in the land development industry.
• Ability to learn basic design concepts and technical calculations.
• GPS knowledge is a plus.
• Possess valid driver’s license.
• Available for occasional travel, long hours, and occasional weekends.
• Ability to communicate effectively, follow direction, and work independently.
• Experience utilizing Microsoft Office including Word, Outlook, and Excel.
