Position Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Survey Crew Chief to join our team in Lisle. In this role, you will lead and coordinate field survey operations, ensuring accurate data collection for topographic and boundary surveys, ALTA land title surveys, construction layouts, and other critical site development tasks. You will be responsible for maintaining field accuracy, troubleshooting issues on-site, training crew members, and ensuring proper equipment maintenance.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct field data collection for topographic and boundary surveys, Alta land title surveys, construction layout, as-builts/record drawings, setting lot & section corners, volumetric surveys, route surveys, control networks and level loops.
• Ensure accuracy and completeness of field notes and sketches.
• Provide on-the-job training for field personnel.
• Demonstrate problem-solving skills in the field to resolve issues.
• Perform regular cleaning and maintenance of field equipment and supplies.
• Maintain a clean vehicle and coordinate routine maintenance.
  
  

Necessary Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED is required.
• 5 years of survey experience as a Crew Chief.
• Certified Survey Technician or similar certification is desired.
• Ability to work in the field under variable weather conditions and terrain.
• Experience utilizing Trimble total stations, GPS units, data collectors, and Trimble Business Center.
• Ability to work autonomously or collaboratively within a crew, coupled with strong communication skills.
• Demonstrated reliability and dependability.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting construction plans.
• Possess Safe working practices, a clean driving record and valid driver's license.
• Capable of lifting and carrying 40+ lbs. over uneven terrain, with the ability to walk, stand, kneel, and squat for extended periods.
• A team-oriented individual with a strong work ethic, motivated by personal and professional growth.
• Willingness to occasionally travel.
