Job summary

Woolpert is seeking a Survey Crew Chief to lead field survey crews across the Western US. The role involves boundary, topographic, construction, and as-built surveys, using total stations, GNSS receivers, and laser scanners to ensure data accuracy and compliance with industry standards.

You will travel up to 80% across the Western United States and supervise junior crew members while coordinating with the Survey Team Leader to meet project timelines and budgets.

Qualifications

• Degree in surveying/geomatics or 5 years related experience.
• Ability to travel up to 80%.
• Proficient in operating surveying instruments and software.

Responsibilities

• Lead a survey crew to conduct boundary, topographic, construction, and as-built surveys.
• Operate and maintain survey equipment (total stations, GNSS, laser scanners, levels, data collectors).
• Prepare detailed field notes and sketches documenting survey activities.
• Adhere to project requirements, goals, and schedules under the Survey Team Leader.
• Perform initial data processing and quality checks to ensure accuracy meets standards.
