Woolpert, Inc. is seeking a dynamic Survey Crew Chief to join our Survey & Geomatics team in the West.

This technical role leads field surveys across land title, transportation, energy, aviation, and land development projects, with 80% travel across the Western United States. You will operate total stations, GNSS receivers, laser scanners, and data collectors while ensuring data quality and compliance with industry standards.

Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or related field, or five years of experience.
• Ability to travel up to 80% and work across the Western United States.

Responsibilities

• Lead a survey crew to conduct field surveys (boundary, topographic, construction, as-built).
• Operate and maintain survey equipment (total stations, GNSS, laser scanners, levels).
• Prepare detailed field notes and sketches documenting survey activities.
• Adhere to project requirements, goals, and schedules set by the Survey Team Leader.
• Perform basic data processing and quality control to ensure accuracy meets standards.
• Provide guidance/training to junior crew and assist in evaluating performance.
