Job Description

Dewberry is currently seeking a Survey Crew Chief to work as a member of a survey crew based out of Dewberry’s Raleigh, NC office. This individual will perform boundary, topography, ALTA, right of way, powerline, gas line, and construction surveys for public and private clients. The role requires willingness and ability to travel, responsibility, motivation, and attention to detail. The Survey Crew Chief will complete various professional survey assignments while learning the methods of the work.

Responsibilities

• Perform right of way survey aspects of transportation engineering projects
• Perform design survey aspects of transportation engineering projects
• Conduct field work related to land surveying
• Perform Boundary, Topographic, Tree & Channel Surveys
• Assist with survey computations and data collection
• Perform other duties as assigned

Required Skills & Experience

• Minimum of 5 years of survey experience as a survey party chief
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Ability to operate Total Stations, GPS, static, RTK, RTN equipment
• Knowledge of topographic survey data acquisition
• Ability to work remotely under challenging conditions
• Familiarity with construction plans and RW maps
• Utility designating experience is a plus
• Physical ability to work outdoors in all weather and terrains
• Capability to lift 50 lbs and stand for long periods
• Proficiency in land surveying techniques and computations
• Effective communication and record-keeping skills
• Ability to obtain security clearance is a plus
• Knowledge of Spectra Precision Survey Pro Software
• Willingness to travel for out-of-town assignments
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
