Job Description
Lead and manage a survey crew, ensuring accurate and timely completion of surveying tasks. Operate and maintain surveying equipment, including total stations and data collectors. Conduct and oversee surveying activities for large infrastructure projects, including roadway, utilities, and land development. Implement high-definition scanning techniques and processes as required. Coordinate with project managers and engineers to provide precise measurements and data. Train and mentor junior crew members, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment. Ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies on all projects. Assist in the preparation of survey reports and documentation.
Responsibilities
This position reports to Edison, NJ, with office check-ins required 1 to 2 days a week to connect with the team and exchange equipment. Traveling around South Jersey, typically an hour or two from the Edison office, is necessary, with compensation for mileage and tolls provided. The Crew Chief receives a company vehicle equipped with necessary tools. The work week is a standard 40 hours, although night work may occasionally be required for railroad projects due to safety concerns. LICA equipment is predominantly used, and understanding of equipment knowledge is essential.
