Job summary

Fishbeck, Thompson, Carr & Huber in Dallas, TX is seeking a Survey Crew Chief to lead on data collection, staking, and mapping. You will work with our Survey team performing topographic mapping, construction staking, boundary/control surveys, ALTA/NSPS surveys, and subdivisions.

This role requires 3+ years of surveying experience, the ability to work on construction sites safely, strong attention to detail, and proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.

• Operate modern survey equipment, including robotic total stations and Trimble GPS.

• Record survey measurements and descriptive data using notes, drawings, and sketches.
• Conduct property research and collect field data for boundary surveys.
• Process and organize survey data to create boundary, topographic, right-of-way, and as-built surveys
• Report directly to a Senior Professional Land Surveyor.

Working with our Survey team, you will perform a variety of surveying tasks, including topographic mapping, construction staking, boundary/control surveying, ALTA/NSPS surveys, and subdivisions.

Minimum Physical Requirements

Ability to walk, climb, and maneuver outdoors to conduct field surveys; lift and carry survey equipment; and operate a company motor vehicle to travel to work sites. Outdoor work in inclement weather is necessary. Indoor work involves using a computer and other standard office equipment, sitting, standing, and light lifting. Visual acuity is essential.
