Job summary

Kimley-Horn in Houston, TX is seeking an experienced CAD Operator to join our Survey team. This on-site role focuses on producing detailed subdivision maps, ALTA surveys, topographic surveys, and related exhibits using AutoCAD Civil 3D.

You will research boundary documents, prepare legal descriptions, coordinate activities, and uphold Kimley-Horn's standards. The ideal candidate has a high school diploma (associates preferred), 3+ years of relevant experience, and strong communication, teamwork,

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; associates degree preferred.
• 3+ years of relevant experience in surveying or related field.
• Advanced knowledge of Autodesk or Bentley products, especially AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Detail oriented with strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Use AutoCAD Civil 3D to produce subdivision maps, ALTA surveys, topographic surveys, and related exhibits.
• Research boundary and easement title documents and perform boundary analysis.
• Create surveys from field data, sketches, photos, and reference maps.
• Prepare legal descriptions and exhibits for rights-of-way and parcels.
• Coordinate work activities to maintain schedules and ensure quality control.
• Familiarize yourself with Kimley-Horn's practices and standards.
