Job summary

Kimley-Horn is seeking an experienced CAD Operator to join our Survey team in Houston, TX. This on-site role focuses on producing detailed subdivision maps, ALTA surveys, and topographic surveys using AutoCAD Civil 3D, with strong emphasis on boundary analysis and adherence to company standards.

You will coordinate with field crews, prepare legal descriptions, and ensure timely, accurate deliverables while contributing to a collaborative, growth-focused environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; an associates degree is preferred.
• 3+ years of relevant CAD/survey experience.
• Advanced knowledge of Autodesk or Bentley products.
• Detail oriented with strong communication and teamwork.
• Ability to work independently and with a team.

Overview

Kimley-Horn is looking for an experienced CAD Operator to join our Survey team in Houston, Texas (TX) office! This is not a remote position.

Responsibilities

• Use AutoCAD Civil 3D software to produce detailed subdivision maps, ALTA surveys, topographic surveys, and other various survey related maps or exhibits
• Research boundary and easement title documents and perform boundary analysis
• Use field crew data files (points), field sketches, photos and reference maps to create surveys
• Prepare legal descriptions and exhibits for right of way, easements, acquisition parcels, etc.
• Coordinates work activities to maintain schedules and ensure quality control
• Develop familiarity with Kimley-Horn’s practices, procedures, and standards

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (associates degree preferred)
• 3+ years of relevant experience
• Advanced knowledge and proficiency in Autodesk or Bentley products
• Detail oriented, professional attitude, good communication, team player, self-starter
• Strong work ethic, interpersonal communication/writing skills and desire to learn
• Ability to work independently and with a team
