Job summary

Rick Engineering Company in Riverside seeks an Assistant Survey Analyst to join the Land Survey department. You will work with GPS, robotic total stations, UAV/UAS, 3D laser scanners and LiDAR to collect data and create datasets such as orthophotography and topography, and you will plot results in CAD.

The role focuses on PLSS, determining boundaries, rights-of-way, survey control, and easements through records research, with collaboration across design, civil engineering, and water resources

Qualifications

• BA/BS in GIS or BS in Land Surveying and minimum six years of experience or equivalent.
• CA LSIT within one year of hire or ability to obtain.
• Land survey analysis involving PLSS, boundaries, rights-of-way, and survey control.

Responsibilities

• Data collection with GPS, robotic total stations, UAV/UAS, 3D laser scanners, LiDAR, photogrammetry and 360° cameras to create datasets.
• Plot results in CAD and CAD exhibits; advance PLSS research and mapping.
• Process and record survey documents and final plats; perform right-of-way research independently.
• Establish new parcels, lots, roads, subdivisions and easements; prepare final plats and exhibits for projects.
• Collaborate with design, civil engineering and water resources teams throughout project lifecycles.
• Read construction drawings and apply California minimum standards; coordinate with municipal agencies.
