Responsibilities of Surveillance Security Officer

• Patrol sensitive areas to identify suspicious activity.
• Conduct vehicle patrols around the premises.
• Verify identities and control access to secure areas.
• React swiftly to threats or incidents.
• Check alarm and camera systems for proper operation.
• Document incidents and actions taken.
• Respond to alarms and conduct on-site checks.
• Collaborate with law enforcement during serious incidents.
• Ensure safety of individuals and property.
• Gather information from callers during emergencies.
• Dispatch assistance and coordinate with emergency services.
• Provide instructions and guidance during emergencies over the phone.
• Operate security systems including CCTV, alarms, and access control.
• Understand and follow security protocols.
• Respond to security alerts and generate reports.
• Build rapport and trust with others.
• Conduct security interviews or investigations.
• Coordinate responses to security incidents.
• Collaborate on security projects with other departments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to pass extensive screening.
• Valid driver's license.
• At least 2 years of supervisory experience in security, military, or law enforcement.
• Active DCJS Security License.
• Age 21 or older, as required by law.
• Experience with Microsoft or Google applications, security systems, and incident reports.
