Job summary

Qualifications

• Master's degree from an accredited college or university with a specialization in an appropriate field of physical, biological or environmental science or in public health.
• Doctorate degree with specialization in an appropriate field and relevant supervisory/administrative or research experience; or
• Master's degree with specialization and three years of full-time research experience; or two years substituted by experience as City Research Scientist I; at least a master's is required.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and identify improvements for the Director of Surveillance to support DIS needs for surveillance system applications.
• Investigate, troubleshoot, and coordinate resolution of surveillance system issues.
• Build and maintain partnerships with surveillance programs across DIS through monthly meetings.
• Conduct research to identify emerging surveillance methodologies and best practices.
• Perform research and analysis on surveillance data trends and system performance.
• Develop bi-weekly and monthly Surveillance Unit reports for leadership visibility.
