Job summary

Germanna Community College in Virginia is hiring for a 10-month, exempt Surgical Technology Program Director and Faculty Instructor. The role combines teaching didactic, laboratory, simulation, and clinical courses with leadership for accreditation, curriculum, and student success.

The faculty member will oversee adjuncts, coordinate program improvement, and ensure compliance with ARC/STSA and CAAHEP standards across multiple campuses, with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a CAAHEP-accredited Surgical Technology program and CST certification.
• Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in the teaching field with demonstrated teaching competency.
• Minimum of two years of experience as a surgical technologist in an operating room scrub role.
• Must meet all program director qualifications per accreditation standards.
• BLS certification.
• Ability to satisfy clinical onboarding requirements.

Responsibilities

• Teach didactic, laboratory, simulation, and clinical courses and lead the program.
• Oversee accreditation activities and compliance including ARC/STSA and CAAHEP.
• Coordinate curriculum development, assessment, and program improvements.
• Recruit, orient, and evaluate adjunct faculty.
• Ensure consistency of instruction and student outcomes across sections.
• Work with clinical affiliates to secure student sites.
• Travel between Germanna campuses as required.
