Job summary

New River Community and Technical College seeks a Program Director/Instructor of Surgical Technology to provide leadership, curriculum oversight, and responsible execution of program operations across didactic, lab, and clinical settings.

The role requires collaboration with faculty and clinical affiliates to ensure compliance with ARC/STSA and CAAHEP standards, ongoing curriculum development, and excellence in student outcomes. On-site presence at campus locations is expected.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Surgical Technology required by policy.
• Bachelor’s degree in health sciences or education preferred for administrative/teaching responsibilities.
• Must hold or pursue CST certification and meet accreditation standards.

Responsibilities

• Direct the Surgical Technology Program including curriculum planning, development, and review.
• Coordinate clinical placements and supervise site visits with accreditation bodies.
• Instruct didactic, lab, and clinical components; assess student performance and provide feedback.
• Maintain ongoing accreditation compliance with ARC/STSA and CAAHEP; prepare reports and site visits.
