Job summary

Novant Health is seeking a Surgical Technologist to assist in the operating room under the supervision of a surgeon and registered nurse, ensuring sterile technique and proper equipment function to maximize patient safety during invasive procedures. The ideal candidate has a High School Diploma or GED and has completed an accredited Surgical Technology program or military training (68D) with CST preferred.

Prior OR experience is a plus; new graduates may be considered with certification within

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Graduate of an accredited School of Surgical Technology program or Military Training Equivalent (68D) – operating room specialist) preferred.
• Current Surgical Tech Certification (CST, TS-C, NRCST, or SA-C) preferred; state-specific certification may be required (SC region).
• New graduates encouraged to obtain certification within 12 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate safe and effective conduct of invasive surgical procedures under supervision of surgeon and registered nurse.
• Ensure sterile and aseptic technique; verify proper equipment function and sterile field.
• Assist in maintaining patient safety and assist the surgical team as needed.
