Job summary

Shriners Children's Spokane is seeking a PRN Surgical Technologist II to support the operative team during procedures and ensure sterile, ready condition of the OR. You will assist in case preparation, obtain supplies, and verify equipment readiness before patient arrival.

Key duties include maintaining a sterile field, counting sponges and sharps, pulling cases from preference sheets, and documenting equipment efficacy.

Qualifications

• Surgical Technologist License (required).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• 1 year scrub experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain a sterile field, prepare equipment, and ensure case readiness.
• Pull cases using preference sheets and OR equipment lists.
• Verify equipment function and record sterilization and use.
• Assist the team to maintain workflow and patient safety in the OR.

Assists in preparation of surgical services to ensure suite setup is appropriate. Shriners Spokane has an opportunity for a PRN Surgical Technologist II to join our team.*No Weekends, No Nights*Key Responsibilities:Competency to create and maintain a sterile field, providing equipment and supplies, performing sponge, sharps and instruments counts.Providing visualization of operative site.Independently pulls cases utilizing preference sheets and OR special equipment lists.Updates, reviews lists making changes as necessary. Reviews cases, and equipment prior to start of case.Is scrubbed in and has equipment prior to patient arriving into the OR suiteVerifying efficacy of equipment, operating, maintaining, verifying, and recording efficacy of equipmentDetermines and documents efficacy of equipment. Records reflect accurate description of operations, sterilization, and use of equipmentFamiliar with proper assembly, operation, and disassembly of all OR equipment and attends in-service on new equipmentAttends in-service on new equipment, completes competency evaluation successful in operation and maintaining equipment used within the departmentRequired Qualifications:Surgical Technologist LicenseBasic Life Support (BLS)Preferred Qualifications:High School Diploma/GEDSurgical Technologist Certification (CST)1 year experience with scrub skillsThe pay range for this position is $29.79-$44.69/hourlyCompensation is determined based on years of relevant experience and departmental equity.
