Job summary

TEEMA Group in Hermiston, Oregon seeks a detail-oriented Surgical Technologist (Scrub Tech) to support the operating room team and maintain a sterile environment. You will anticipate needs, prepare instruments, assist with draping, counts, and room turnover, ensuring safe, efficient procedures for each patient.

This full-time, day-shift position requires graduation from an accredited Surgical Technology program and current BLS certification; CST preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Knowledge of sterile technique and surgical procedures.
• Ability to remain focused and organized in a fast-paced OR.
• Strong attention to detail and patient safety.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Function as the scrub technologist during operative and invasive procedures.
• Prepare and organize sterile instruments, supplies, and equipment.
• Maintain a sterile field at all times and take corrective action when needed.
• Anticipate surgeon and team needs, providing instruments and supplies efficiently.
• Assist with sterile draping and preparation of surgical sites.
• Perform instrument, sponge, and supply counts with the RN circulator.
• Ensure all necessary equipment and supplies are available, accurate, and functioning properly.
• Prepare sterile dressings and assist during all phases of the surgical procedure.
• Clean and prepare instruments for decontamination and sterilization.
• Assist with room turnover to ensure readiness for subsequent procedures.
• Maintain an organized, efficient, and safe surgical environment.
• Maintain patient privacy, confidentiality, and dignity at all times.
• Participate in ongoing education, competency validation and training programs.
• Adhere to organizational policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Support a culture of teamwork, accountability, and patient-centered care.
