Job summary

Psadocs in Austin, TX seeks a Surgical Technologist to manage instruments, supplies, and equipment for procedures. Candidate will understand procedures, anticipate surgeon needs, and uphold sterile technique to ensure high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities include pre-operative setup, intra-operative instrument passing, counts, draping, patient positioning, and post-procedure room turnover with attention to safety and accuracy.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of training.
• Current certification as a Surgical Technologist or evidence of employment prior to September 1, 2009.
• Evidence of current BLS certification.
• Two years of previous experience as a Surgical Technologist.

Responsibilities

• Wears appropriate attire and PPE; prepares and opens supplies and equipment.
• Performs surgical scrub and gowns/gloves; maintains sterile field.
• Sets up sterile back table and Mayo stand with instruments and solutions.
• Performs instrument, sharps and sponge counts with circulator.
• Anticipates surgeon needs and passes instruments during procedures.
• Maintains sterile technique throughout intra-operative period.
• Assists with draping, positioning, and preparing patient for surgery.
• Cleans and prepares instruments for terminal sterilization; assists with room turnover.

Skills

Two years of experience as Surgical/OR

Education

Graduate of an accredited school of training

Current Surgical Technologist certification

Current BLS certification
