Physician Partners of America is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) to prepare instruments, supplies, and equipment for surgical procedures. The CST maintains sterile technique and tracks instrument counts to support the surgical team before, during, and after operations.

Qualifications include graduation from an approved Surgical Technologist program with certification and current Basic Life Support.

Qualifikationen

• Graduate of an approved Surgical Technologist program with certification.
• Current Basic Life Support certification (BCLS).
• Strong knowledge of sterile technique and OR prep.

Aufgaben

• Collect supplies needed for surgical procedure and check to ensure quality.
• Performs the surgical scrub; dons gown and gloves.
• Prepares instruments for procedure using sterile techniques.
• Performs initial instrument, sharps and sponge counts with the team.
• Assists team with gowning and gloving.
• Assists with the draping of the patient and establishing the sterile field.
• Secures tubing, cords, and other sterile accessories.
• Anticipates and prepares any additional supplies that may be required during the procedure.
• Foresees the needs of the surgeon and passes instruments/supplies during procedure as needed.
• Measures and passes medications, hemostatic agents and irrigation solutions used during procedure.
• Maintains highest standard of sterile technique during the procedure.
• Prepares sterile dressings and/or immobilization devices.
• Cleans and prepares instruments for terminal sterilization.
