Qualifications

• Technical School graduate of Surgical Technology or Practical Nursing program is required.
• Associate Degree in Surgical Technology or Applied Sciences is required.
• 0-2 years of operating room surgical technician experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and maintains the operating room for surgical cases with equipment, instruments, and supplies.
• Assists the surgical team by anticipating needs and passing instruments and supplies accurately.
• Manages instrument handling, sterilization, inspection, and assembly.
• Performs counts of sponges, needles, and instruments with the circulating nurse.
• Assists in patient positioning, draping, and transfer for procedures.
• Updates physician preference cards to ensure correct supplies.
• Cleans, reprocesses, and sterilizes instruments following protocols.
• Restocks supplies and cleans rooms for subsequent cases.
• Maintains regular attendance and complies with policies.
