Jersey City Medical Center is seeking a Surgical Technologist to join the Labor & Delivery team. This role supports surgeons and perioperative staff by preparing the operating room, maintaining sterile technique, and ensuring supplies and instruments are ready for procedures.

Ideal candidates have completed an accredited Surgical Technology program or hold the CST credential (NBSTSA) and current BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Completed a Surgical Technology program or CST credential (NBSTSA)
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification required
• Orientation and competency requirements must be completed

Responsabilités

• Prepare operating rooms by ensuring instruments, equipment, and sterile supplies are organized and ready for procedures
• Collaborate with perioperative nurses to provide patient-centered care throughout the surgical experience
• Maintain a sterile field and follow aseptic technique to promote safe outcomes
• Anticipate surgeon’s instrumentation and equipment needs during procedures
• Assist the surgical team during procedures with instruments, supplies, and equipment
• Monitor the surgical environment to maintain patient safety throughout the perioperative period
• Follow fire prevention and safety procedures related to laser and electrosurgical equipment
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and perioperative team to deliver coordinated care
• Ensure turnover and readiness of equipment between procedures
• Participate in education, orientation, competency validation, and quality improvement initiatives
