Job summary

Intermountain Health Orem Community Hospital is seeking a Surgical Technologist to join the operating room team. This part-time role (32 hours/week) supports sterile practices, assists surgeons, and ensures OR readiness per safety standards.

The position offers a clear path through ORT levels, requires BLS, ORT program completion, and the ability to take call. Schedule Tue-Fri 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM with one night and one weekend call per month.

Qualifications

• BLS certification for healthcare providers.
• Completion of an accredited Operating Room Technician (ORT) program, or graduation from a non-accredited surgical tech program within the past six months (not eligible for Tech in Surgery exam).
• Two years of scrub tech experience in hospital/military surgical services within the last three years, or international training equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the sterile field and a safe operating room environment.
• Prepare operating room and instruments for procedures.
• Assist surgeon during procedures within ORT scope of practice.
• Identify and respond to emergencies with sound judgment.
• Assist with room turnover and prepare for next procedure.
• Support sterilization processes as needed.
• Advancement pathway to ORT II, III and IV.
