Job summary

Intermountain Health Primary Children’s Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah, seeks a Surgical Technologist to join the operating room team. You will maintain the sterile field, assist surgeons, and ensure safety and proper room turnover under RN supervision.

This full-time role offers a 40-hour week with four 10-hour shifts, shift rotations, and a path toward ORT II–IV, with comprehensive benefits included.

Qualifications

• BLS certification for healthcare providers.
• Completion of an accredited Operating Room Technician (ORT) program.
• Two years scrub tech experience in hospital/military surgical services within the last three years.
• Able to take assigned call.
• Must be in good standing.

Responsibilities

• Ensure operating room and surgical items meet sterilization criteria.
• Maintain the sterile field and a safe environment.
• Address sharps and fire safety processes.
• Prepare the operating room and instruments for the surgical procedure.
• May assist with sterile processing.
• Assist surgeon during procedures within ORT scope.
• Identify emergencies and respond appropriately.
• Assist with room turnover and prep for next procedure.
• Pathway for advancement to ORT II, III, IV.
