Job summary

Virtua is seeking a Surgical Technologist to assist during surgical procedures under RN/Physician supervision. You will handle instruments, supplies and equipment to maintain a sterile field and support patient care during operations.

Role requires one year OR experience, a high school diploma or equivalent, and NJ CE requirements; BLS and surgical tech certification are preferred. On-site, 1st shift, 40 hours weekly with sign-on bonus eligibility.

Qualifications

Summary

Under the direction of the Registered Nurse and/or Physician, the Surgical Technologist handles the instruments, supplies and equipment necessary during the surgical procedure. He/she has the necessary knowledge and ability to ensure quality patient care during the operative procedure and is constantly on vigil for maintenance of the sterile field.

Position Responsibilities

• Scrubs for, prepares, sets-up and assists during any surgical procedure and provides support to nursing and ancillary departments by transporting and transferring patients to and between units when necessary.
• Prepares instruments and supplies for future procedures.
• Collects and handles specimens according to policy and procedures.

Position Qualifications Required / Experience Required

One year OR Training or Experience.

Required Education

High school graduate or equivalent; Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology Training Program.

Training/Certifications/Licensure

• BLS.
• Surgical Technologist Certification preferred.
• Maintenance of New Jersey State required 15 CEs per year.

Compensation

Hourly Rate: $28.63 - $44.54. The actual salary/rate will vary based on applicant's experience as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
