Job summary

Virtua Health in New Jersey seeks a Surgical Technologist to support operating room teams across Mount Holly and ambulatory surgical settings. You will scrub, set up instruments, and assist during procedures while maintaining a sterile field.

Minimum one year OR experience required; graduation from an accredited Surgical Technology program and BLS are required. Certification is preferred. Part-time shifts offer competitive hourly pay and benefits.

Minimum of 1 year of OR Experience

The Position will float between Mount Holly Operating Room and the Mount Holly Ambulatory - Surgery department (Operating Room) based on the surgical need.

Shifts:

Three, 10‑hour shifts per week

7a - 5:30pm Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday

On-Call Requirements: The position will be responsible for 2nd on‑call requirements and Holiday on‑call for the Mount Holly Operating Room.

Summary:

Under the direction of the Registered Nurse and/or Physician, the Surgical Technologist handles the instruments, supplies and equipment necessary during the surgical procedure. He/she has the necessary knowledge and ability to ensure quality patient care during the operative procedure and is constantly on vigil for maintenance of the sterile field.

Position Responsibilities:

• Scrubs for, prepares, sets-up and assists during any surgical procedure and provides support to nursing and ancillary departments by transporting and transferring patients to and between units when necessary.
• Prepares instruments and supplies for future procedures.
• Collects and handles specimens according to policy and procedures.

Position Qualifications Required / Experience Required:

One year OR Training or Experience.

Required Education:

Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology Training Program.

Training/Certifications/Licensure:

BLS.

Surgical Technologist Certification preferred

Maintenance of New Jersey State required 15 CEs per year.

Hourly Rate: $28.63 - $44.54The actual salary/rate will vary based on applicant's experience as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
