Job summary

Virtua Health in Mount Holly, NJ seeks a Surgical Technologist to float between the Mount Holly Operating Room and the Ambulatory Surgery department. You will handle instruments, supplies, and equipment during procedures and ensure sterile technique, with on-call duties including holidays.

Requirements include at least 1 year of OR experience, graduation from an accredited Surgical Technology program, and BLS certification. On-site, full-time role with rotating shifts and weekend on-call.

Qualifications

• One year OR Training or Experience.
• BLS.
• Surgical Technologist Certification preferred
• Maintenance of New Jersey State required 15 CEs per year.

Responsibilities

• Scrubs for, prepares, sets-up and assists during any surgical procedure and provides support to nursing and ancillary departments by transporting and transferring patients to and between units when necessary.
• Prepares instruments and supplies for future procedures.
• Collects and handles specimens according to policy and procedures.

Summary

Under the direction of the Registered Nurse and/or Physician, the Surgical Technologist handles the instruments, supplies and equipment necessary during the surgical procedure.

He/she has the necessary knowledge and ability to ensure quality patient care during the operative procedure and is constantly on vigil for maintenance of the sterile field.
