Qualifications

• Evidence of completion of an accredited surgical technologist program and certification, or equivalent military training.
• Experience in surgical technology at PSU Health or another healthcare facility is preferred.
• AHA BLS certification is required prior to orientation.

Responsibilities

• Provide a sterile patient care environment and set up instrumentation for operating room procedures.
• Anticipate the needs of the surgical team by supplying instruments and supplies during procedures.
• Provide surgical assistance during operating room procedures.

Education

Accredited surgical technologist program and certification; new graduates may obtain within six months

US Army/Navy/Air Force surgical technology training program

Previously employed to practice surgical technology at PSU Health or another facility

AHA BLS certification required prior to orientation
