Job summary

Baystate Health is seeking a Surgical Technologist for the Main Operating Room at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, MA. This part-time role (32 hours/week) supports a high-paced, collaborative surgical team across multiple specialties.

Responsibilities include aseptic technique, instrument handling, and assisting surgeons. Regular weekend/holiday rotation applies; on-call per department needs. Sign-on bonus up to $5,000 for external hires.

Qualifications

• ASc in Surgical Technology or equivalent program.
• AST certification when required.
• CPR – BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Assist surgeons under supervision to ensure safe procedures.
• Maintain sterile field and aseptic technique throughout operations.
• Prepare and handle instruments and equipment for surgeries.
• Assist with patient history, allergies, and intra-operative care plan.
• Complete intraoperative documentation accurately long with required records.
