Job summary

Baystate Health’s Main Operating Room in Springfield, MA seeks a part-time Surgical Technologist to join a fast-paced, collaborative team. Weekend shifts (third shift) require 24 hours per week, with on-call as needed, and a sign-on bonus for eligible external hires.

Qualifications

• AST certification is required for some roles.
• Associate degree in Surgical Technology or equivalent.
• Proficiency in aseptic technique and patient safety.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate safe conduct of invasive surgical procedures under supervision.
• Apply aseptic technique and surgical knowledge to support patient care.
• Anticipate surgeons' needs during operations.
• Support multiple surgical specialties and procedures.
• Review patient history, allergies, and intraoperative care plan.
• Maintain sterile field and proper instrument handling.
• Complete documentation within scope of practice.
