Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a Surgical Technologist to support operating room teams before, during, and after procedures in the Erie area. You will assist with setting up the surgical suite, handle instruments, and ensure sterile technique throughout the case.

You will follow surgeon preferences, assist with patient positioning and draping, perform counts, support cost‑effective care, and adhere to HIPAA and all privacy policies.

Qualifications

• Certification as Surgical Technologist (CST/TS-C) within 6 months of hire.
• CPR certification within 60 days of hire.
• HIPAA privacy practices training and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Assists in setting up the surgical operating suite with instruments and supplies.
• Utilizes aseptic techniques and standard precautions; follows medication/specimen handling policies.
• Assists with preparing, positioning and draping patients and participates in surgical pause.
• Adapts to surgeon preference and patient care variables; updates surgeon pref materials.
• Performs sponge, needle, and instrument counts.
• Promotes cost effective and efficient environment for patients.
• Performs other duties as assigned or required.
