Job summary

CommonSpirit Health is seeking a Surgical Technician in the Tacoma area to prepare the operating room and support the surgical team across procedures. You will set up equipment, maintain a sterile field, and collaborate closely with the OR team to aid in patient healing.

Candidates must have ARC-ST Surgical Technology program, or an approved nursing degree substitution, WA certification for Surgical Technologist or RN, and BLS/CPR upon hire. A sign-on bonus is available.

Qualifications

• Graduation from ARC-ST surgical technology program upon hire.
• Nursing degree may substitute for ARC-ST surgical tech program, upon hire.
• Surgical Technologist Registration: WA, upon hire.
• Registered Nurse: WA, upon hire.
• Basic Life Support (CPR), upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the operating room and sterile field; set up sterile equipment and instruments; assist surgeon and team.
• Transfer and position patient; assist anesthesia personnel as needed; participate in safety checklists.
• Support aseptic technique and instrument handling; ensure proper specimen handling.
• Assist with patient positioning, draping, and comfort measures under direction of qualified practitioner.
• Maintain readiness for a variety of surgical procedures and contribute to patient healing.
