Job summary

Prisma Health seeks a Surgical Technologist to assist in caring for patients before, during, and after surgery. You will perform scrub duties as part of the team, prepare the OR, and help maintain sterility and safety throughout procedures.

Ideal candidates may be at a novice to advanced beginner level, with successful completion of a Surgical Technology program and willingness to engage in ongoing education and quality improvement activities within a hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Education: Surgical Technology program completed in the U.S.
• Experience: No previous experience required.
• Certifications: NBSTSA Surgical Technologist or NCCT acceptable under certain conditions.

Responsibilities

• Assists in care of patients during surgical procedures as a member of the scrub team.
• Prepares for procedures by collecting supplies and setting up sterile instruments.
• Maintains aseptic technique and assists with instrument counts and specimen handling.
• Cleans and prepares rooms between cases and assists with turnover.
• Supports training and mentoring of new team members.
