Job summary

Prisma Health Greer Medical Campus seeks a Surgical Technologist to assist in care of patients of all ages before, during and after surgical procedures by performing scrub duties as a member of the surgical team.

This role emphasizes maintaining aseptic technique, assisting with instrument counts, handling specimens under RN direction, and participating in required continuing education to support safe, high-quality care.

Qualifications

• Job related course work beyond high school, Diploma in Surgical Technology.
• No previous experience required.
• In lieu of education, must have 15 hours ST continuing education annually and prior ST employment in SC before 2008 or completed a ST military training program.
• Maintains 15 hours of mandatory ST education annually - Required
• Maintains surgical technology certification - Required
• Knowledge of office equipment (fax/copier)

Responsibilities

• Assists in care of patients of all ages before, during and after surgical procedures by performing scrub duties as a member of the surgical team.
• Assists in maintaining aseptic technique and assists with instrument counts.
• Cleans and prepares rooms between procedures and handles specimens under RN direction.
• Returns unused supplies and maintains compliance with sterilization standards.
• Completes required continuing education and hospital education annually.
