Job summary

Prisma Health is seeking a Surgical Technologist to assist in care of patients of all ages before, during and after surgical procedures. You will perform scrub duties as a member of the surgical team, prepare the OR, maintain aseptic technique and support the team in instrument counts and specimen handling.

Education: Surgical Technology program completion or US Armed Forces Surgical Tech training is required; no prior experience is necessary.

Qualifications

• Education: Surgical Technology program completed or US Armed Forces Surgical Tech training.
• No prior experience required.
• Must complete 15 hours annually of continuing ST education.

Responsibilities

• Assist in patient care before, during and after surgical procedures as part of the scrub team.
• Prepare for procedures by collecting supplies and instruments per Surgeon Preference Card.
• Prepare OR by opening sterile supplies and arranging instruments per case.
• Assist team during operations and maintain accurate counts of instruments, needles, and sponges.
• Maintain aseptic technique and report any breaches.
• Train and assist with integration of new team members and share expertise.
