Job summary

Prisma Health in Richland is seeking a Surgical Technologist to assist in patient care before, during, and after surgical procedures. You will perform scrub duties as part of the surgical team, maintain aseptic technique, and support the operating room team to ensure patient safety.

No prior experience required; successful completion of a Surgical Technology program is required, and CST certification is needed or equivalent.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of a Surgical Technology program or Surgical Technologist training in the U.S. Armed Forces.
• No previous experience required.
• CST certification with NBSTSA or TS-C (NCCT) considerations per state rules.

Responsibilities

• Prepares for surgical procedures by collecting necessary supplies and instruments.
• Prepares the Operating Room by opening sterile supplies and setting up instruments.
• Assists the surgical team during procedures and maintains correct count of instruments and sponges.
• Cares for specimens and handles drugs and solutions under RN direction.
• Maintains aseptic technique and correct any breaches.
• Supports training and integration of new team members.
