Job summary

Qualifications

• Certification as CST (Certified Surgical Technologist) is required.
• Completion of an accredited surgical technology program.
• 1–3 years of experience in a surgical setting or nine months to one year in similar capacity.

Responsibilities

• Assist surgeon as scrub person according to prescribed standards.
• Maintain aseptic technique at all times.
• Set up table, instruments and supplies according to type of operation.
• Assist in preparation and draping of patient and operative area.
• Assist with instrument counts and maintenance of supplies as needed.
• Transport patients for surgery.
• Assist in autoclave testing and maintenance of records.
• Assist with housekeeping duties to maintain a safe operating room environment.
