Job summary

St. Charles Health System in Bend, Oregon is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) to join the Operating Room perioperative team. The CST functions within the scope of practice, assisting the surgeon and maintaining sterile technique throughout procedures, in compliance with AORN standards and SCHS policies.

This role does not directly manage other caregivers. The position supports the OR team, participates in pre-briefs, time-outs, and debriefs, and works to ensure efficient,

Qualifications

• Required: Graduate of a CAAHEP or ABHES accredited program or military CST program.
• Required: NBSTSA or NCCT Surgical Technologist Certification.
• Required: AHA BLS for Healthcare Providers.
• Experience: One year in a high-volume OR preferred.

Responsibilities

• Functions as a member of the Surgical Services Perioperative team to ensure safe, efficient patient care.
• Prepares the operating room and equipment for procedures.
• Drapes and gowns sterile field; passes instruments to the surgeon.
• Maintains sterile technique and observes safety policies.
• Assists in positioning patients and in perioperative documentation.
• Participates in postoperative cleanup and case breakdown.
