Job summary

St. Charles Health System in Bend, OR is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist to join the Operating Room team.

The CST functions as a scrub and/or second assisting technologist, maintaining sterile technique and supporting the surgical team. The role offers a pay range of $42.87 to $63.89 per hour with shift differentials, relocation assistance for eligible candidates, and a commitment to patient care aligned with SCHS values.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited CST program.
• Current NBSTSA or NCCT CST certification.
• BLS for Healthcare Providers certification.
• One year OR experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare operating room and equipment for scheduled or emergency cases.
• Assist with draping, instrumentation, and sterile technique throughout procedures.
• Pass instruments and maintain sterile field during surgery.
• Participate in pre-brief, time-out, and debrief of procedures.
• Ensure safety and minimize exposure following SCHS policies.
• Assist in patient positioning and gowning for procedures.
• Break down cases and decontaminate instruments for processing.
• Provide customer service and educate patients and families about the surgical experience.
